About Us

JBO’s unique personality partners a consummate professionalism and customer service that actually is a point of pride… a business built to last.

From a small start in one ground floor space in 1998, word soon spread that the "New kid in town" was really something a bit special. More space was a priority and we extended to the first floor, allowing for 3 extra consulting rooms.

Starting as we meant to carry on, we didn’t let our popularity give us a swelled head. Our clients have always come first…and they still do.

For those who need it, we have a consulting room on the ground floor.

Our on-site lab means less chance of mistakes and faster service.

However, the real JBO difference has to do with our team. From James Bryan on down, we are a family, and pride demands that we deliver the service you deserve.

Meet The Family

James Bryan: Contact Lens Qualified Dispensing Optician. A Dispensing Optician (DO) is normally responsible for advising on frame and lens choice for any given prescription. While this has largely now been deregulated and can be carried out by non-qualified staff with minimal training, dispensing to children or servicing complex prescriptions for partially-sighted people must still be carried out or supervised by qualified staff.

Tracy Skingley: Manager, James’ right hand person and a Contact Lens Qualified Dispensing Optician

Beverley Smith: Optometrist (ophthalmic optician)

Lisa Neep: Optometrist

Renu Ranchan: Optometrist

Claire Haywood: Contact Lens Qualified Dispensing Optician and the longest-serving member of staff (currently on maternity leave but due back in March…we miss her!)

Lyndsey Forsyth: Optical assistant (all dispensing functions)

John Sanderson: Lab Tech and trainee dispensing optician

Julie Rayner: Receptionist, frame fitting and pre-examination screening

Louise Curley: Receptionist and pre-examination screening

Lawrence Byrne:  Trainee lab technician.  James maintains that the lab tech is in many ways the most important job in the practice. It's where the sum of all the knowledge and expertise of every member of staff comes together in the final product.

And last, but definitely not least….

Jess Broad and Leo Parkington: Weekend staff…. Because your life isn’t just nine to five, five days a week!

Everyone you need to deliver the quality service you expect.
